Do you love a smooth, rich, and Creamy Chocolate pie?

Chocolate Creamy Pie 1

This Chocolate creamy pie is all of those things and more. I had three kids helping me make this pie, and we all had fun putting it together. The whip cream on the pie is supposed to look like worms. I had a design in mind, but once I started piping the whip cream the kids all shouted “hey that looks like worms,” and my design went down the drain. Sometimes kids come up with the best ideas.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Graham Cracker crust 9 Inch
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1/3 c. Flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. Milk
  • 2 1/2 Squares Unsweetened Chocolate
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 Tbs. Butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla extract
  • 1 c. Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 Tbs. Cocoa powder
  • 1/4 c. Powdered sugar

Directions:Chocolate Creamy Pie 2

In 2 quart saucepan mix together salt, flour, sugar. Stir in Milk. Stir in chopped chocolate and over low heat cook mixture, stirring constantly until all chocolate is melted. With wire whisk beat until chocolate is blended, increase heat to medium and cook stirring until mixture is thickened and comes to a boil. Remove from heat at once. In a cup with a whisk beat egg yolks with small amount of hot chocolate mixture. Slowly pour the yolks into the saucepan, over low heat cook and stir until mixture is very thick. Do not boil, mixture is ready when it mounds after being dropped from the spoon. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. Pour into pie crust and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Cover pie in plastic wrap to keep skin from forming. Just before serving place whipping cream, and 1/4 c. powdered sugar and 1 Tbsp. Cocoa in a bowl. Whip together until stiff peaks form, then simply frost the cake or pipe it on.

As always you can get this recipe, and many others on a recipe card to print out, just go to the recipe pageĀ

This cake is smooth, rich, and easy to make. The taste is somewhat like fudge, and the whip cream on top can be chocolate or you can remove that from the recipe and just go with regular whipped cream. To make this and even easier recipe buy the Graham cracker crust, and the whip cream.

I have to cut this short because I have 5 kids over here today. My sister is doing much better, and I think they are going to discharge her today from the hospital. The cyst was huge, 5 inches, and they had to remove the ovary it was attached to as well. I am glad that she and the baby are doing great, it was touch and go for a while because she was having contractions about 5 minutes a part. They got them to stop and today she gets to go home. Once again all is well with my family, lets just hope it can stay that way for a while. Lately my family has been like my house if it isn’t one thing it’s another. I just want everyone to have a great summer, and everything to go well.

I want that for all of you as well, I hope you all have a fantastic Summer.

What do you plan to do this summer?
