Spending Eight Hundred Dollars in a Day

I have worked very hard over the past 4-5 months to save eight hundred dollars.Money

For a special trip?

no

For a new TV, couch a home improvement?

No

We scraped and saved all that money so that we could pay past due personal property tax on my husbands car. We had to be very careful the past couple of months because he had expired license plates, but we couldn’t get new ones until we paid the Personal Property Tax. So Thursday that is pretty much what we did. Hubby had a doctor appt in the morning, and then we went to city hall, and went from room to room to room. However it wasn’t a bad experience unless you include that every time we went to a new room I could see that eight hundred dollars shrinking.  We paid up all the taxes, got his new license plates, we ate a nice lunch just the two of us, okay we splurged and got sushi, so all the money didn’t go to taxes, but hey we figured we deserved it.

My savings account is back down to one hundred dollars, but I have much to show for it. We are all paid up, he has his new license plates, so we no longer have to worry about being pulled over, he got 3 tickets while his plates were expired. This of course slowed down the savings process because I had to pay tickets, but he had to drive, he had to go to work.

The best part of the day had to be when we got our new license plates, the first part is fine, and the last part just made us laugh it spells tit. Yes our car is now the tit mobile, which makes my hubby happy and he can’t wait to show all the boys at work. I am relieved that all of this is out of the way, not having it taken care of made my stomach feel icky. I don’t like to be past due on anything, but sometimes you just don’t have the money.

Now that it’s all taken care of I can start saving up for things that I really want, of course listing these things kind of made hubby’s stomach feel icky lol. I basically want to start saving up for home repairs, and other things. One among them is saving up for a trip just the two of us in November. Our wedding anniversary is in November and we haven’t really been able to do anything special since our honeymoon. It will be 6 years this November and we want to celebrate the fact that we can still handle each other lol.

Eight hundred dollars gone in a day, but so much was accomplished and taken care of, so really it doesn’t bother me all that much

If you had $800.00 what would you spend it on?
