Working Out, Walks and Weights
Starting over,
I have started walking again which is something I used to do a lot. However getting back to the way I was is of course slow going. It doesn’t bother me that it’s slow, but part of me wishes I had the endurance I used to have.
I take my walk on my lunch break and walk for about 20-30 minutes then when I get home I workout my arms with weights and my legs. I do sit ups and push ups, this takes about another 10-15 minutes and then I cool down with some stretches and what not. Today however I come away from working out feeling a bit shaky. I ate lunch I think what happened was I switched from my 5lb weight to a 10 lb weight. The 5lb weight wasn’t doing anything for me. I could do a ton of reps without even breaking a sweat. However the ten pound weight gave me what I needed, and the extra weight really worked out, and there was a point where I just couldn’t do anymore lifting.
Of course this is going to take time for me to get used to, and tomorrow I will probably be sore, but no pain no gain right, or well loss in this case.
I enjoy my walks most of all, since my son started school I finally had time during the day to take this activity back up again. I get to walk by myself, and have no distractions. I plug my Zune into my headphones and jam. People probably look at me because I move a bit to the music and sing as well, so anyone within ear shot can probably hear me belting my workout jams as I march along. Hey dancing with myself is a great song, people should appreciate me possibly expanding their musical knowledge lol. Of course this would mean that they would need to ignore my out of key singing, but hey we all have to pay a price.
I consider myself lucky, I have a boss who used to be a personal trainer and body builder, he sends me in the right direction, of course never letting me forget that what I eat is first and foremost. Without the proper eating habits Rach, exercise just won’t be as good. I am working on this part of it, but hey I like to eat lol.
I have a special post coming up soon about a new addition in our lives (no it’s not a baby,) I just need to wait a little bit longer before I can make the post I want her to be ready and perfectly groomed for it. So be looking forward to that post soon. Apple Picking is coming up and I plan on doing a post on Eckerts, complete with pictures. I will probably place this under the visit stl section. It isn’t in St. Louis but close enough that if you are visiting you should go check it out.
Anyway I gotta jam lots of work to do and little time before the baby gets home from school. Okay okay he’s not a baby anymore, but he will always be momma’s baby.

Take care
Rachie

I am so much better at working out than I am at eating well. It’s not that I eat the worst food, but I eat too much! I guess most of us have that problem, though. Good for you for getting back into walking and sticking to a routine you enjoy.
Hey there! I thought of you tonight as I was looking through WU and stopped by your MySpace. Good to see that you are still posting! Weights are awesome for your metabolism, not to mention kicking A$$ and walking is one of the most therapeutic things one can do…I had some things to work through over the summer and thank god for my walks! Hope all is well in your world and just wanted to drop in and say hi
